In celebration of National Veterans Small Business Week the Massachusetts District Office is hosting an event for Veterans on November 7th with District Director Bob Nelson along with partners and friends, including: South East Massachusetts Small Business Development Center; Veteran Small Business Owner; New Bedford Economic Development Council; South Eastern Economic Development Corp & Bristol County Savings Bank. 

Additionally, there will be a Boots to Business REBOOT workshop on November 15th for Veterans of all eras and their spouses. Please share with a Veteran!

IRS Small Business Initiative

IRS is continuing with the small business initiative highlighting tax law changes affecting small business owners and self-employed individuals.

  • News Releases:  Two news releases for this week are attached. They can also be found on our Tax Reform News page once they’re issued.

    • October 16: IRS: Several tax law changes may affect bottom line of many business owners
    • October 18: Reduced 24-percent withholding rate applies to small businesses and other payers; Revised backup withholding publication features helpful FAQs
  • Tax Reform Tax Tips. Tax Tips in English and Spanish are attached to this message and will be posted on the Tax Reform Resources page.   

    • October 17: Tax reform brings changes to real estate rehabilitation tax credit
