We live in an interconnected world where global business is the norm and what happens anywhere in the world can have an impact on our companies and our lives. Global business provides us with connections outside of the United States in ways that extend beyond just business. These connections help promote better understanding, cultural awareness, economic development and humanitarian efforts. Strengthening global ties creates shared goals and interests, mutual collaboration and an appreciation for our differences.
This year’s World Trade Day will focus on this interconnectedness and how we, as business people, are Connecting the World through Global Business. While we don’t know yet what the exact issues will be next May, we do know that over the next several months we will all be closely watching developments in U.S. trade policies; U.S. relationships with countries such as China, Russia and Cuba; global economic dynamics; global infrastructures and supply chain trends, and much more. How will we be connecting with the world and what will that mean for our businesses?
World Trade Day is a unique opportunity to participate in in-depth discussions on these and other global issues. As we plan the day’s agenda, we are bringing together high level speakers, key decision makers, policy experts, economists, and other global industry professionals, who can share their expertise, insights and analysis of current trends and policies. Together we will learn how to take advantage of opportunities to connect through global business and plan for the future.
