November-December 2023 Acquisitions List
The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) maintains an extensive collection of documents and journal articles specifically related to minority health. The OMH online library catalog provides access to the nation’s largest repository of information dedicated to the health of minority populations within the United States and its territories. The collection includes more than 75,000 articles, documents, books, journals, audiovisual materials, and organizations related to the health status of racial and ethnic minority populations.
From November 16th to December 15th, the OMH Knowledge Center added 363 resources to the online catalog.

In this focus issue of Health Promotion Practice, Valarie Blue Bird Jernigan, DrPH, MPH, from the Center for Indigenous Innovation and Health Equity (CIIHE), a partnership between Oklahoma State University Center for Health Sciences and the University of Hawai’i coordinated through OMH, presents a collection of articles that describe the genealogy of the CIIHE and the development and application of a food sovereignty conceptual framework for health.

This paper, published in JAMA Network Open, addresses the use of healthcare algorithms and provides the healthcare community with guiding principles to avoid repeating errors that have tainted the use of algorithms in other sectors. This work was conducted by a technical expert panel that included researchers at the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality (AHRQ).
