OMH Funding Opportunity Announcements: Black Youth Mental Health, Structural Racism, and Equitable Access to Language Services
The HHS Office of Minority Health (OMH) is dedicated to improving the health of racial and ethnic minority populations through the development of policies and programs that will help eliminate health disparities. Through its demonstration projects, OMH supports the identification of effective approaches for improving health outcomes with the ultimate goal of promoting the dissemination and sustainability of these approaches.
OMH has released the following funding opportunity announcements for which applications are now being accepted:

Visit the OMH website to find statistics on Black health, including heart disease, infant mortality, and mental health, and learn about the lives and careers of Black men and women who have made an impact in important fields such as cancer, HIV/AIDS, maternal and child health, and sickle cell disease. Resources: COVID-19
The White House has announced an operational plan for COVID-19 vaccinations for children under five. The Administration has made 10 million vaccine doses available for states, Tribes, territories, community health centers, federal pharmacy partners, and others to pre-order as the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the CDC conduct independent review processes of COVID vaccines for young children.
CDC currently recommends COVID-19 vaccines, including boosters, for everyone ages 5 years and older.

Request for Information: 2022 HHS Environmental Justice Strategy and Implementation Plan Draft Outline
The HHS Office of the Assistant Secretary for Health (OASH) has extended the comment period for the draft outline of the 2022 Environmental Justice Strategy and Implementation Plan. OASH seeks to identify actions and strategies to best address environmental injustices and health inequities for people of color, disadvantaged, vulnerable, low-income, marginalized, and Indigenous populations. The six proposed strategic elements of the plan are services, partnerships and community engagement, policy development and dissemination, research and data collection, education and training, and performance measures.
Extended deadline for comments is June 18.

Blueprint for Change: A National Framework for a System of Services for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs
In partnership with families, healthcare professionals, and other experts in the field, the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) Maternal and Child Health Bureau developed the Blueprint for Change.
The Blueprint is a national framework to advance a system of services for children and youth with special health care needs where they enjoy a full life and thrive in their community from childhood through adulthood.

Increasing HIV/STIs Home Testing via a Digital Intervention
Among Black Women
This study, sponsored by the University of Texas at Austin, seeks Black women ages 15-59 years old who live in Travis County, Texas. The study aims to increase HIV and sexually transmitted diseases (STIs) testing, treatment, and pre-exposure prophylaxis adoption. The study will be carried out at the University of Texas at Austin.
Early Life Exposures Among Children with Sickle Cell Disease
This study, sponsored by the University of Alabama at Birmingham, seeks parents (18-50 years old) of infants with sickle cell disease. This study aims to determine the relationship between adverse childhood experiences, social determinants of health, and nutrition/breastfeeding among children with sickle cell disease. The study will be carried out at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.

Pacific Public Health Fellowship Program
The Pacific Public Health Fellowship Program, a collaborative effort between various U.S. Affiliated Pacific Islands' health departments, the Pacific Island Health Officers' Association, and the CDC, is a two-year professional development program that provides new college graduates and early career professionals with hands-on learning experiences and training for a variety of public health careers in:
- Guam
- The Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas
- American Samoa
- The U.S. Freely Associated States
- The Federated States of Micronesia
- The Republic of the Marshall Islands
- The Republic of Palau
Deadline for application is June 30.
NHSA-AIM CCI Racial Equity Learning Series
The Racial Equity Learning Series (RELS), developed by the National Healthy Start Association (NHSA) and the Alliance for Maternal Health Community Care Initiative (AIM CCI), is a professional learning series that addresses racism's impact on maternal and child health. RELS includes seven modules on topics such as acknowledgment and acceptance of racism, institutional transformation, and personal and systemic change. RELS offers ten continuing education credits.
