  • The HHS/OMH, Office of Minority Health Resource Center (OMHRC) is excited to announce two Clinical HIV/AIDS Regional Trainings. The one-day regional clinical trainings are for doctors, nurses, case managers, community health workers, and other health care professionals working in tribal agencies and clinics delivering HIV prevention services to increase providers' knowledge in HIV/AIDS prevention and treatment with presentation topics on Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), HIV/HCV Integration, and HIV & Opioids. Supported by the Secretary's Minority AIDS Initiative Funds (SMAIF), the training is free to attend and limited to 30 providers serving American Indians/Alaska Natives.   • HHS/Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA): Health Center Program's Service Area Competition. Supports public and private nonprofit community-based and patient-directed organizations that provide primary health care services to medically underserved populations.

  • HHS/Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA): Tribal Opioid Response Grants. Eligibility is limited to federally recognized American Indian/Alaska Native (AI/AN) tribes or tribal organizations.

  • HHS/National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID): Advancing Research Needed to Develop a Universal Influenza Vaccine (R01 Clinical Trial Not Allowed) Grant.

  • HHS/NIH, National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI): Mentored Career Development Award to Promote Faculty Diversity in Biomedical Research (K01 Independent Clinical Trial Required) Grant. This FOA invites applications from institutions with eligible faculty members to undertake special study and supervised research under a mentor.

  • Seattle Indian Health Board/Urban Indian Health Institute: 2018-2019 Building Resilience and Action to Nurture Community Health (BRANCH) Community Grants Program. Supports initiatives that encourage the use of AI/AN traditional, cultural and regional knowledge in developing, implementing, and/or supporting obesity education, prevention, and management initiatives among urban Indian communities.

  • HHS/OMH, National Partnership for Action to End Health Disparities (NPA), in collaboration with the National Hispanic Medical Association (NHMA): Partners webinar series. Diversifying the Health Workforce for an Equitable Future. This webinar will highlight strategies to diversify the health workforce in order to create a more equitable future for all. Increasing the diversity of the health workforce can help to improve access to care in underserved communities; increase patient choice, satisfaction, and health outcomes; and enhance healthcare quality for vulnerable populations.

Efficacy and Safety of Soliqua Versus Lantus in Ethnically/Racially Diverse Patients with Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus Inadequately Controlled on Basal Insulin and Oral Antidiabetic Agents (LixiLan-D).
