to the Great Lakes Regional Health Equity Council (RHEC V)
RHEC
V seeks to fill one or more vacancies in each of the six states in the
region (Illinois, Indiana, Michigan,
Minnesota, Ohio, and Wisconsin). RHEC V plays a critical role in
coordinating and enhancing state and local efforts to address health
disparities and the social determinants of health (SDOH) at the regional level.
Apply by December 27.
The American Indian and Alaska Native (AI/AN) NPA Caucus is Seeking New Members
The AI/AN NPA Caucus is seeking proactive members whose work
and expertise fall under sectors such as: tribal governments and organizations representing health, education,
economic/ community development and environment; regional and national Native American and American urban
Indian organizations and health professions such as community health workers,
public health and allied health professionals.
Region II Health Equity Council (RHEC II) To Host
Open House Webinar for Potential Members
The webinar will
be held on Wednesday, January 18 at 11 am EST for anyone interested in learning
more about RHEC II and becoming a member. RHEC II represents New York, New Jersey, Puerto
Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. RHEC II maintains a diverse membership
representing several sectors such as state government, academia/higher
education, health care delivery, private sectors, and civic/non-profit.

health data infrastructure is the least developed in Region II. Region II
includes the states of New York and New Jersey, the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico

The SHEC released its Cultural Competency
Resource Guide last fall 2015. To follow up on the release of the Cultural
Competency Resource Guide, the SHEC has been hosting a series of webinars in
various regions of the country. The
latest webinar will take place on Jan. 18 at 2pm EST and will focus on mental
health and various ethnic groups; LGBTQIA and youth communities.
New England RHEC’s Webinar on Rhode Island's Approach to Youth
Workforce Development Webinar
NERHEC is hosting a webinar on Jan. 23 at 1 pm
EST for at Roger Williams University (RI) to present its Community Development
Program. The webinar will focus on workforce development for youth of color,
that is rooted in educational opportunities and career exploration/exposure,
both of which result in healthy outcomes.

OVW-2017-11901 Office on Violence Against Women: Training
and Services to End Violence Against Women with Disabilities Grant Program:
The goal of the Disability Grant Program is to create sustainable change
within and between organizations that results in increased capacity to
respond to individuals with disabilities and Deaf individuals who are
victims of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and
stalking and to hold perpetrators of such crimes accountable. Application
deadline is Jan. 26, 2017.
