OPR-E351-KR-22 Southwest Chesapeake Rivers

Recap

  • R/V 505 conducted Investigation and fill in H13765 and H13767, as well as crossline acquisition in H13767.
  • R/V Spectrum conducted investigation and fill in H13770 and H13771, crossline acquisition in H13771, and was down for high winds on 27MAY2023.
  • R/V Pulse conducted mainscheme MBES and SSS data acquisition, crossline acquisition, and investigation and fill in H13769, conducted mainscheme MBES and SSS data acquisition in H13768, and was down for high winds on 27MAY2023.

Looking Forward

  • R/V 505 and R/V Spectrum will move to the York River to begin mainscheme MBES and SSS data acquisition in H13773.
  • R/V Pulse will conduct mainscheme MBES and SSS data acquisition and fill in H13768 and H13769.
  • Field office will move from Urbana to Newport News.
  • R/V Endeavor, R/V Voxel, and R/V Taku have been demobilized.

OPR-F330-KR-22 Albemarle Sound, NC

Recap

  • R/V Benthos was down for weather on 26MAY2023 and 27MAY2023 and a planned project stand down on 21MAY2023. RV Benthos collected SSS/SBES in H13763 and SSS/SBES and SBES in H13764.
  • R/V Chinook was down for weather on 26MAY2023 and 27MAY2023 and a planned project stand down on 21MAY2023 and 22MAY2023. R/V Chinook collected SSS/SBES in H13763 and SSS/SBES and SBES in H13764.
  • R/V 4‐Points - There was a planned project stand down on 21MAY2023. The vessel is offsite at the GDX office in Morehead City for vessel repairs (mechanical downtime) and then went on standby.
  • Data processing of SSS, MBES, and SBES has continued through the reporting period. The office continues to ingest survey data and focus on QC review, documentation and fill/recovery plans.

Looking Forward

  • R/V Benthos will collect SSS/SBES in H13763 and H13764.
  • R/V Chinook will collect SSS/SBES in H13763 and H13764.
  • R/V 4-Points will be returning to the project with a SSS mobilized and collect SBES and SSS/SBES in H13764 and H13762.
  • The office will continue ingestion and processing of SSS, MBES, and SBES data. This week's sheet‐wide reviews will focus on SSS/MBES for H13755, H13758, and H13760 and continuing to refine fill and investigation plans. SSS/SBES reviews will continue
    to develop fill and recovery plans.

OPR-340-KR-23 Bristol Bay, Alaska

Recap

  • Mobilization on the R/V Arctic Seal and CW5-ASV began in Homer, Alaska on 20MAY2023
  • Sea-trials occurred successfully on 25MAY2023
  • Mobilization on the R/V Arctic Seal and ASV-CW5 completed by mid-day 26MAY2023 Mobilization of the LC-25 (launch) was not completed in Homer but will be finalized in transit. Mobilization crew that was not transiting travelled back to Palmer. The Arctic Seal left Homer at approximately 3:30 PM local time, destination Dillingham, Alaska.
  • The Arctic Seal was in transit to Dillingham at end of day, 27MAY2023

Looking Forward

  • Arctic Seal is scheduled to arrive in Dillingham 31MAY2023. Rotation 1 survey crew will fly from Anchorage and join it there.
  • Acquisition should begin on 01JUN2023. H13714 and H13715 are likely first to be targeted for survey, though conditions on site will determine where operations will occur.
