OPR-F364-FH-22 Onslow Bay, NC

Recap
  • NOAA Ship Ferdinand R. Hassler is alongside in Charleston, SC for a scheduled inport.

Looking Forward

  • Ferdinand R. Hassler will be pier side for  maintenance before returning to Onslow Bay working ground on 12SEPT2022.

THOMAS JEFFERSON

OPR-W386-TJ-22 Approaches to Cleveland, OH

Recap
  • The NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson completed mid-season Operational Readiness Training and onboarded autonomous survey vehicle, DriX.

  • The ship got underway on 01SEP2022 and began underway deployment and recoveries, training, and testing of the ASV. 
  • The ship and launches continued conducting survey operations on OPR-W386-TJ-22, acquiring on sheet H13608. 

Looking Forward

  • The ship will continue integrating DriX into operations and begin acquiring survey data with the ASV.
  • Additionally, the ship and launches will continue conducting survey operations on OPR-W386-TJ-22, acquiring on sheets H13682 and H13608.

Fairweather

OPR-O190-FA-22 West Prince of Wales, Alaska

Recap:

  • NOAA Ship Fairweather transited through Alaska's inside passage and pulled into port in Juneau.

Looking Forward

  • Fairweather will be underway on 05SEP2022 for Sumner Strait and will begin hydrographic operations on 06SEP2022.

RAINIER 

OPR-T381-RA-22 Mariana Islands

Recap
  • NOAA Ship Rainier was alongside and had to delay departure to Hawaii.

  • Completed acquisition on OPR-T381-RA-22!
  • Began transit to Honolulu on 01SEP2022.

Looking Forward

  • The ship will complete the Descriptive Reports for OPR-T381-RA-22.
  • Once in Hawaii, Rainier will be de-staging and getting the ship ready for the winter repair period in San Francisco.

    H13638 between weather and some mechanical downtime early in the week.
  • The R/V Benthos remained on standby for additional fill as needed.

Recap

  • Hydrographic survey crew travel today to the Chesapeake Bay to finalize mobilization and calibrations (Sea Acceptance Testing) on the 30’ vessel R/V Oyster Bay II.
  • Mobilization of the 135’ vessel R/V Sea Innovator I.
