  • NOAA Ship Ferdinand R. Hassler goes underway on 02MAY2022, and arrived at survey working grounds to commence 24-hr ship survey operations on 03MAY2022.

  • Conducted mainscheme acquisition on sheets H13620, H13621, H13622, H13625, H13626, and H13627. Additionally, opened sheet H13628. 

Looking Forward

  • NOAA Ship Ferdinand R. Hassler will transit to Pascagoula, MS on 12MAY2022 for the next port call to reinstall MVP and complete other maintenance work.

OPR-W386-TJ-22 Approaches to Cleveland, OH

  • NOAA Ship Thomas Jefferson got underway from the Great Lakes shipyard on 02MAY2022, and started survey operations on OPR-W386-TJ-22 acquiring on sheets H13607, H13609, and H13616.

  • NOAA Ship Rainier continued survey and dive operations on H13571 (Guam) and H13574 (Apra Harbor), before pulling in port on 05MAY2022.

OPR-Y396-KR-22 Western Lake Michigan, WI

Recap

  • OPR-Y396-KR-22 kicked off with the R/V Benthos and staff arriving to Port Washington, WI early in the week. Installation and calibrations concluded on 07MAY2022.
  • The field office was assembled and network connections to GDX were implemented. Preparations for management and data processing at GDX continued.

Looking Forward

  • R/V Benthos will commence MBES survey in H13635.

OPR-R320-KR-22 Cape Newenham, AK

Recap

  • Crew arrived on R/V Norseman and resumed mobilization. R/V Norseman and the WAM-V transited to H13569. Main scheme acquisition began in H13569. On R/V Norseman partial days of survey occurred on 05MAY, 06MAY, and 07MAY due to sonar and positioning equipment cabling issues. On the WAV-V sea state conditions prohibited survey.
  • R/V Thunder has been partially mobilized and is ready for barge transportation to Bethel, AK.

  • R/V Norseman and the WAM-V will continue main scheme acquisition in H13569.
  • R/V Thunder will begin barge transportation to Bethel, AK.
  • Office staff will begin processing and reporting.
