Comment Deadline Approaching for SPCS Policy Changes

SPCS Fed register Notice

Submit your comments by August 31

On April 18, 2018, NGS published a Federal Register Notice (FRN) about the State Plane Coordinate System of 2022 (SPCS2022). The FRN is open for public comment until August 31, 2018, and asks for input on five specific questions covering:

  1. The draft SPCS2022 policy and procedures (the FRN includes links to those documents).
  2. Whether “special-purpose” zones should be included in SPCS2022 (the FRN defines these zones).

Email your responses to NGS.Feedback@noaa.gov; anyone can provide input. NGS especially encourages feedback from those who will be affected by SPCS2022. We intend for SPCS2022 to be a technically sound and practical component of the Nation’s spatial data infrastructure of tomorrow, fully satisfying the broad needs and applications of the geospatial community for years to come.

SPCS will change in 2022

NGS will establish SPCS2022 as part of modernizing the National Spatial Reference System. We invite your written comments on the draft SPCS2022 policy and procedures.
