NLRB Region 13 COVID-19 Update

I truly hope this message finds everyone doing well.

As many of you know, the Chicago Regional Office, Region 13, of the National Labor Relations Board has also been impacted by COVID-19. Most importantly, everyone in the office is safe and healthy.

The Regional Office is still actively enforcing the National Labor Relations Act. Board Agents are remotely investigating cases through telephone affidavits and electronic exchange of documents utilizing the Agency’s’ e-filing capabilities. Please work with the Region’s Agents to accomplish the mission of the Act. I assure you that we will do everything possible to allow for a full investigation of all our cases.

Currently, union representation elections and Unfair Labor Practice and representation hearings scheduled to take place on or before April 3rd have been postponed. The Agency is actively monitoring the situation and further information will issue. If you wish to automatically receive updated news releases from the NLRB, please enter your e-mail in the following link, https://public.govdelivery.com/accounts/USNLRB/subscriber/new?topic_id=USNLRB_3

The Chicago Regional Office Information Officer (“IO”) is available to answer questions. Please call (312) 353-7570 to talk to an IO. If the IO is unavailable, please leave a message.

Thank you to the labor relations community of Chicago for continuing to be the model for our nation. Finally, I want to express my great appreciate to the hard-working and dedicated members of the Chicago Regional Office, many of whom have been working long hours while personally dealing with the impact of the virus in their own homes.

Be well,

Peter Sung Ohr, Regional Director
