ER Training for Supervisors: Employee Performance vs Conduct
11:00 AM (ET)
Location: Boulder Auditorium 1-1108 (VTC to Gaithersburg Red Auditorium)
Speaker Name/Affiliation: John Guenther
Description: The Department of Commerce, Office of General Council, will be coming to NIST to provide training for Supervisors. They will provide three sessions in conjunction with NIST’s Employee and Labor Relations Team. This three-hour training will prepare you, as a supervisor, to address issues of performance and conduct (and to tell the difference between the two). Participants will learn strategies for resolving employee problems early and informally but will also receive instruction on the more formal processes used to address repeated or more serious issues, including detailed instruction regarding employee and management rights and responsibilities and the procedures of the Merit Systems Protection Board. The training will also include a component on managers’ responsibilities—and the resources available to them—when they receive employee grievances and complaints of discrimination. Attendance tracked through CLC and will count for your mandatory supervisory training requirements! No need to register, simply show up and sign in for credit.
Accessibility: VTC presentation from Boulder to Gaithersburg in Red Auditorium from 11AM-2PM EST
