How do you predict the future without a crystal ball? With data, insight, and experience. At least, that’s how a panel of experts from the Manufacturing USA network recently tackled the topic of “factories of the future” at the renowned SXSW conference in Austin, Texas.  ARM Institute’s Suzy Teele moderated the session titled “Smart, Sustainable, Streamlined: Factories of the Future” with speakers Dr. Maria Curry-Nkansah (EPIXC), Kathie Leonard (Auburn Manufacturing, AFFOA member), and Jeff Winter (CESMII).

NextFlex Announces Latest Project Call

NextFlex, the manufacturing institute focused on maturing hybrid electronics, released Project Call 10.0 (PC 10.0) in late March. The institute’s latest project call seeks proposals to further develop and adopt hybrid electronics while addressing key challenges in advanced manufacturing. NextFlex anticipates releasing up to $5 million in funding across six topic areas. Proposals are due May 21.
