New Opportunities
The new Stephen I. Katz Grant Program is for Early Stage Investigator (ESIs) who are proposing to change research direction with innovative new projects. No preliminary data is allowed. The next deadline is January 26, 2021. Learn more.

Continuing Opportunities
The FY2021 Loan Repayment Program is now receiving applications. NINR participates in the Clinical Research, Pediatric Research, and Health Disparities Research programs. Applications due November 20, 2020.
The Office of Research on Women’s Health (ORWH) has updated the NOSI for administrative supplements to support research on the health of women of understudied, underrepresented and underreported (U3) populations to include consideration of SARS-CoV-2 or COVID-19. Applications due January 21, 2021.
An ORWH RFA is soliciting R01 applications for research on sex and gender factors and their intersection in understanding health and disease. Applications due November 25, 2020.
The Office of Sex and Gender Minority has published the FY 2021 SGM administrative supplement notice. The deadline to apply is January 26, 2021.
Continuing COVID-related Opportunities
NOSI for a program offering administrative and competitive supplements to existing NIH-funded grants supporting longitudinal studies to address key social and behavioral questions related to the COVID-19 pandemic. Applications must be received by March 31, 2021.
NOSI for supplements and PAR for new R01s to support research aimed at populations who experience health disparities and other vulnerable groups, and specifically testing digital health interventions. Applications for supplements must be received by December 30, 2020. The next deadline for R01 applications is December 2, 2020.
PAR supporting research aimed at populations who experience health disparities and other vulnerable groups, and specifically testing community interventions for prevention, adherence, and reduction of the negative impact of coronavirus mitigation strategies on other health conditions. The deadline for R01 applications is December 1, 2020.
Getting Ready to Apply
Don’t forget to keep your eRA Commons Personal Profile current and correct, including your email address. This data must be kept up to date to ensure that grant applications are processed accurately and that reviewer conflicts may be identified, and makes it easier for NIH to contact you.
The new NIH Policy for Data Management and Sharing will require NIH-funded researchers to prospectively submit a plan outlining how scientific data from their research will be managed and shared. Read Dr. Collins' statement on the importance of this policy.
