Ed Gordon talks with Dr. Gary Gibbons in a virtual town hall

NIH’s Dr. Gary Gibbons joins African American leaders in the October 8 “Making It Plain” town hall hosted by journalist Ed Gordon. The town hall was a robust discussion of COVID-19 issues of greatest interest to the Black community.

Town halls are a great way to provide trustworthy information to African American and Hispanic/Latino communities.

On October 8, the Black Coalition Against COVID, in collaboration with BlackDoctor.org and other leading organizations, hosted “Making It Plain: African Americans and the COVID-19 Vaccine & Clinical Trials Town Hall” to answer questions and provide expert perspectives on the importance and development of a COVID-19 vaccine. Dr. Gary Gibbons, of the National Institutes of Health, was one of the featured speakers along with medical professionals from Howard University College of Medicine, Morehouse School of Medicine, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, and Meharry Medical College. Watch the town hall and be sure to share it with your networks.

Don’t miss out on this upcoming event:

On October 20, tune in to Univision for “COVID-19 Vaccine: Facts and Myths,” a town hall featuring Dr. Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases; Dr. Edwin DeJesús, medical director of the Orlando Immunology Center; and Janet Murguía, president and CEO of UnidosUS. Viewers will hear why it’s important for Hispanics/Latinos to participate in clinical research, have their questions answered by the experts, and hear stories from vaccine trial participants. The event is currently scheduled to air on Univision at 3 p.m. ET. In addition to the television broadcast, the event will also stream online on at UnivisionNoticias.comUnivision Noticias on Facebook, Univision News on YouTube, and @UniNoticias on Twitter.
