Updated NHLBI policy for data and safety monitoring of extramural studies

The “NHLBI Policy for Data and Safety Monitoring of Extramural Studies” has been updated and can be found at: http://www.nhlbi.nih.gov/funding/policies/dsmpolicy.htm. This policy supersedes NHLBI’s “Data Safety Monitoring Policy” (2008), and “Monitoring Boards for Data and Safety - Interim Policy” (2007).
The following additional updates have been made:
- Data Safety Monitoring FAQ’s have been updated to reflect changes in the policy. A link to the FAQ’s can be found on the policy.
- The DSM Charter Template for NHLBI boards has been updated to reflect changes in the policy and can be found on the Clinical Research Guide in the Tools & Training Section of the NHLBI Internet
