NHLBI SBIR/STTR REGULATORY ASSISTANCE

Dear NHLBI family!

Today we are excited to announce the publication of PA-16-335 “NHLBI Pilot Program to Provide Regulatory Support to SBIR/STTR Awardees Developing Medical Devices (Diagnostics and Therapeutics)  (Admin Supp)” (http://bit.ly/RegAssist)!  This announcement provides an opportunity for our companies developing the highest risk medical devices to meet face-to-face with reviewers from the FDA’s Center for Diagnostics and Radiological Health.  If you think your technology fits this opportunity, please reach out to our Regulatory Specialist chris.sasiela@nih.gov to discuss your eligibility.

If your product doesn’t fit the criteria for the above mentioned funding opportunity, the Office of Translational Alliances and Coordination still has resources to help with your product development work!  Our Small Business coordinator can answer questions about all of NHLBI’s small business funding opportunities; Business Development advisor can help you understand all those customer identification and commercialization plan questions; and our Investor and Entrepreneur-in-Residence have vast experience and networks in the investor and strategic partner arenas – they can help you find investors to talk to and refine your pitch before that all-important meeting.  To request time with any OTAC staff member, submit a request through http://bit.ly/SmallBizInquiry
