 As 2024 comes to a close, we're taking a look at how our rare solid tumor network has grown. Since the Natural History Study of Rare Solid Tumors opened for enrollment in January 2019, over 650 participants have joined the study, representing over 60 different rare solid tumor histologies. Our researchers have sequenced the DNA and RNA of tumor tissue and other biospecimen samples collected through the study, which has gathered a total of 2,879 biospecimen samples! Our web presence has expanded to provide 40 different webpages outlining information on rare solid tumors, with an average of over 100,000 page views per month. The MyPART network has grown to include over 30 rare cancer advocacy organization partners with over 24,000 subscribers to this monthly newsletter. Thank you for being a part of MyPART's growth!

Staff across the NCI Center for Cancer Research Pediatric Oncology Branch gathered to celebrate the holidays and create a gingerbread masterpiece for entrance into the annual NIH Clinical Center Gingerbread House Decorating Competition! This year's theme centered around the movie "Moana". Over 40 gingerbread houses created by staff from across NIH's 27 institutes and centers are on display in the NIH Clinical Center lobby. The NIH Clinical Center, home to MyPART's Rare Tumor Clinics, is a unique and magical place, enabling bench-to-bedside research and facilitating clinical trials that aim to advance treatment options for rare and complex diseases that are often challenging to study at other academic centers. The annual NIH Gingerbread House Decorating Competition brings a bit of whimsy to the busy center for biomedical research and allows visitors from all over to feel the magic of the holiday season.
