Annual Report to the Nation Part 2: New Cancer Diagnoses Fell Abruptly Early in the COVID-19 Pandemic

New diagnoses of six major cancer types in the United States fell abruptly in early 2020, coinciding with the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, according to findings from part 2 of the latest Annual Report to the Nation on the Status of Cancer.

NCI invites applications for Precancer Atlas (PCA) Research Centers, one of the three scientific components of the Human Tumor Atlas Network (HTAN), an NCI-funded Cancer Moonshot^SM initiative to construct 3D atlases of human cancers and their microenvironments as they progress from precancerous lesions to advanced disease. Each PCA Research Center will construct one 3D precancer atlas that characterizes a pre-malignant lesion with a focus on understanding the transition from a precancerous lesion to malignancy.
