Do You Have Posttraumatic Stress Disorder from War-Zone Exposure? Join a Research Study on Brain and Body Changes in PTSD

Participation includes:

  • 1-3 outpatient visits to the NIH Clinical Center.
  • Visit 1 is a screening visit (~4 hours) and includes a physical and psychiatric exam.
  • Visits 2-3 are study visits (~3 hours) and include computer tasks (with and without unpleasant stimuli) during brain scans (functional magnetic resonance imaging; fMRI).
  • There is no cost to participate and compensation is provided.

This study is currently recruiting:

  • active duty, reservists, and retired military service members between
  • 18-50 years old
  • with PTSD, from war-zone exposure
  • who are free of certain medications
  • who are free of certain physical and mental health conditions

The NIH Clinical Center, America’s research hospital, is located on the Metro Red Line (Medical Center stop) in Bethesda, Maryland.
