The NIAID-supported BEI Resources Repository has a new tool to assist the research community. BEI, a central repository for NIAID’s Division of Microbiology and Infectious Diseases, supplies organisms and reagents to the broad community of microbiology researchers and scientists studying infectious diseases (except HIV). Now, BEI is offering a Knowledge Base to connect the scientific community and encourage interactive information sharing. The Knowledge Base is an informational database which provides additional knowledge about the BEI Resources program and reagents through questions and answers. For example, did dissolving your product in a particular solvent work for your downstream biological assays; do you have a question about how many cells are in a gram of a particular cellular product? Researchers can share their tips and questions so the whole community can learn from answers and recommendations. For more information, please visit http://www.beiresources.org/KnowledgeBase.aspx , or contact BEI Resources Customer Services at contact@beiresources.org.
