 FIET Training Recap
Thank you for prioritizing training before go-live! Over 5,300 participants attended live instructor-led training sessions to get a sneak peek at the new and improved FMMI. Your dedication to understanding how FMMI is changing will enable a smooth transition to the upgraded system.
If you haven’t already, please review our FIET training resources:
-
Each of the live training recordings are posted to the FIET training webpage.
-
All materials presented during training can be found in FMMI Help under Other Training Materials Documents > Fiori eLearning Courses.
-
The FIET Training Q&A document answers all questions collected during live training sessions.
Get Ready for Go-Live Prepare for go-live by reviewing the following items and taking action where applicable:
❄️User Provisioning Freeze – As of Thursday (1/30), no user access requests are being accepted. This includes requesting changes to access for existing users or setting up new users. The ability to create GRC access requests will be restored after system go-live. Please either submit requests in advance of the freeze or wait to submit the request until after the freeze. If you have any questions, reach out to Tim Howell.
📈Master Data Requests
-
Customer & Vendor Master Data Requests – Please submit any PVNDs for customer and vendor maintenance requests by Tuesday (2/11) at 3 p.m. CT, or be prepared to submit them after go-live on Wednesday (2/19).
-
Non-Vendor Master Data Maintenance Requests – Any Non-Vendor Master Data Elements (NVMDE) requests submitted after Wednesday (2/12) at 3 p. m. CT will not be processed until Wednesday (2/19), and will be processed in the order that they are received.
🔗Transactions in Systems that Interface with FMMI – Some systems that interface with FMMI will be unavailable during cutover. Others will be online, but transactions to FMMI may be delayed. For a full list of impacts to systems that interface with FMMI, please see this table.
📜GTAS Reporting – GTAS Reporting may not be available during the cutover period. Please plan to complete as much reporting as possible before cutover begins on Thursday (2/13) at 6 p.m. CT.
⚙️Workflows – Complete as many workflows as possible before Thursday (2/13). Workflows include any processes that involve the request or approval of functional documents. Take note of any items that cannot be completed as they will need to be reinitiated in the new system.
⭐️Favorites – Think about what transactions you’ll want to add as favorites in the new system. We recommend favoriting your most frequently used transactions/tiles in Fiori for ease of access.

FACES OF FIET: Key Player Spotlight
Each month, get to know the devoted minds driving FIET's success. Each edition will spotlight one of the individuals who make our team extraordinary. Learn about their roles, experiences, and what fuels their excitement for FIET.
Meet FIET Project key player, Rachel Williams!
How long have you been with USDA/FMS? I’ve been with UDSA/FMS for 16 years.
What is your role in FMS? I am the Branch Chief for Business Intelligence (BI), overseeing day-to-day operations and maintenance of reporting. I make sure our two primary systems are running smoothly, handling any incidents and leading system enhancements. I also respond to customer inquiries regarding reporting and new extractions. Our team is currently in the process of standing up SAP Analytics Cloud (SAC) and getting users acclimated to SAC.
|
What is your role on the FIET Project? My role on the FIET Project is more supervisory in nature, approving decisions regarding the BI system. I also work closely with Tiffany Wimberly, the BI expert, to making decisions for the look and feel of the BI landscape after the FMMI upgrade go-live.

What are you most excited about regarding FIET or S/4HANA? I’m most excited to bring customers the new embedded analytics capabilities of S/4HANA. Embedded analytics will allow customers to access concise information very quickly within FMMI itself. This will enable more efficient decision making, a feature we know customers will appreciate.
If you had to move outside of the US, where would you go? I would probably move to an island to be a beach bum, sitting in the sand with a ton of books and a fruity drink in hand! Aruba, Jamaica, and the Bahamas are all up for consideration.
|
Do you follow any sports teams? As a basketball lover, I really enjoy going to the New Orleans Pelicans games whenever I have the chance. I try to attend at least three games per season with my son.
Do you have any pets? Yes, I have a dog named Teddy. He is a Terrier/Havanese mix and keeps me company while I work. I call him the worst co-worker ever because he sleeps all day!
