Relief Funding Opportunity for Humanities Organizations

NEH ARP logo only

The Office of Digital Humanities is proud to support SHARP: Sustaining the Humanities through the American Rescue Plan.

This year, the NEH was allocated $135 million in supplemental funding to be distributed to humanities workers and organizations to aid in pandemic recovery efforts.

About 40% of SHARP funds will be distributed directly to state humanities councils. The remaining funds will be given out through two competitive granting programs:

  1. American Rescue Plan: Humanities Organizations will provide emergency relief grants to educational organizations and cultural institutions. Deadline May 14.
  2. American Rescue Plan: Humanities Grantmaking is directed at experienced grantmaking organizations to administer competitive grantmaking programs to support humanities activities undertaken by organizations or individuals. Deadline May 13.
