Call for Applications
to Direct NEH Summer Seminars and Institutes and Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshops
Dear Colleague,
On behalf of the National Endowment for the Humanities’ Division of Education Programs, I would like to make you aware of upcoming funding opportunities to direct a residential summer project for K-12 educators or higher education faculty in one of the division’s leading programs, Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshops, or Summer Seminars and Institutes.
Participants of these programs frequently describe them as professionally transformational—a gift to educators across the country who want to gain a deeper understanding of the history, literature, art, and culture they teach.
 Since 2004, Landmarks of American History and Culture Workshops have supported a series of two one-week workshops that strengthen humanities teaching at the K-12 level through place-based learning at sites of historic importance within the U.S. and its territories. this placeholder text.

The division’s legacy Summer Seminars and Institutes programs have been providing one- to four-week opportunities for participants (NEH Summer Scholars) to explore a variety of topics relevant to either K-12 or undergraduate education in the humanities for almost a quarter century. |
I invite you to learn more about Landmarks or Summer Seminars and Institutes, or, if you are already considering a proposal submission, I encourage you to discuss your ideas with Division of Education program staff.
