COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES ANNOUNCE COST-OF-LIVING ADJUSTMENT FOR PERFORMANCE OF MUSICAL COMPOSITIONS BY COLLEGES AND UNIVERSITIES (78 FR 71501)
The Copyright Royalty Judges are announcing a cost-of-living adjustment (COLA) of 2 percent in the royalty rates that colleges, universities, and other educational institutions not affiliated with National Public Radio pay under section 118 of the Copyright Act for use of published nondramatic musical compositions in the repertory of the performing rights organization SESAC. COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES ANNOUNCE COST-OF-LIVING ADJUSTMENT IN ROYALTY RATES FOR SATELLITE CARRIERS UNDER SECTION 119 LICENSE (78 FR 71501)
The Copyright Royalty Judges are announcing a COLA of 1 percent in the royalty rates satellite carriers pay under section 119 of the Copyright Act. The COLA is based on the change in the Consumer Price Index from October 2012 to October 2013, and the rates apply to the period January 1, 2014, through December 31, 2014. December 30, 2013: Effective date of 2 percent COLA affecting performance on musical compositions by colleges and universities under section 118 license (78 FR 71501).
January 1, 2014: Effective date of rates and terms for making ephemeral recordings of sound recordings by business establishment services for period January 1, 2014, through December 31, 2018 (78 FR 66276).
January 1, 2014: Effective date of rates and terms for mechanical and digital phonorecords under section 115 license (78 FR 67938).
January 1, 2014: Effective date of 1 percent COLA affecting royalty rates satellite carriers pay under section 119 license (78 FR 71501).
