History Hub Migrating to New Platform
Are you a History Hub user? History Hub is the discussion forum that By the People volunteers use to ask questions, discuss transcriptions, and get help from one another. It's hosted by the National Archives and they've let us know that it's getting a refresh! On Friday, February 24, they will implement a content freeze meaning no new content will be posted, including new questions or answers. No one will be able to login but the site will remain available to read by all users. They expect the migration to finish by Monday, February 27 or Tuesday, February 28. During that time if you need help or have questions for the By the People team, email us at crowd@loc.gov. We'll keep you updated if the migration timeline changes.
The general functionality of the forum will remain the same but when you log back into History Hub after the migration, you will need to reset your password. The email address and username associated with your account will remain the same. For more information and step-by-step instructions on how to reset your password, check out History Hub's latest announcement about the migration. Don't hesitate to reach out to us if you have any questions!
Upcoming campaigns
We have some exciting new campaigns and additions coming to the By the People site the next few months. Here's a quick preview:
- March: Women in the Civil War
- April: Morrill Petition, Selections from the American Federation of Labor Records
- May: Addition to Walt Whitman campaign - be on the lookout for a Whitman challenge in June!
Regards,
Abby & the By the People team
