Law Library of Congress Highlights from July 2022

The mission of the Law Library of Congress is to provide authoritative legal research, reference and instruction services, and access to an unrivaled collection of U.S., foreign, comparative, and international law. Here are some of the new resources you may have missed recently.

Legal reports collection hits a milestone!

The Law Library of Congress specializes in foreign, comparative, and international law (FCIL). Among the staff of the Law Library are foreign law specialists from around the world who use the Law Library’s collection to produce legal reports in response to requests from members of Congress, Congressional staff and committees, the federal courts, executive branch agencies, and others. Many of these reports are available to the public through the Legal Reports section of Law.gov or directly through the Legal Reports (Publications of the Law Library of Congress) digital collection. In addition to current research products on FCIL topics, this collection includes historical legal reports that have been previously unavailable to the public. The reports contain analysis of foreign and international law from the period of the 1940s to the present. Digitized and born-digital historical reports are released on a weekly basis, while contemporary reports are released following approval for publication. The Law Library’s Digital Resources Division just celebrated a significant milestone - over 3,000 of these legal reports are now available online to search and browse! Explore the Legal Reports (Publications of the Law Library of Congress) collection today!
