Celebrate Women's History Month by reviewing NAWSA correspondence

We celebrate women's history all year round but especially during the month of March. And we're calling all reviewers to help make progress on Organizing for Women's Suffrage: The NAWSA Records. The National American Woman Suffrage Association (NAWSA) formed in 1890 out of the merger of two competing suffrage associations. Led by figures like Susan B. Anthony, Elizabeth Cady Stanton, Carrie Chapman Catt, and Anna Howard Shaw, the group pushed for a federal suffrage amendment as well as galvanized state-based efforts. The women of this movement made history in their time and you can help preserve it by reviewing transcriptions of their papers!

Volunteers complete O'Keeffe/Stieglitz correspondence in 2 days

Have we told you lately that our volunteers are amazing? You completed the Georgia O'Keeffe and Alfred Stieglitz campaign in 2 days! If you're curious to know more about the collection, read curator Barbara Bair's recent blog post about the campaign. And if you haven't yet heard the amazing story of how this small collection of letters came to light and arrived at the Library of Congress, watch the O'Keeffe Museum webinar from last year with Library of Congress curator Barbara Bair and the collection donor Susan Todd. You never know what you could find in that dusty shoebox in your closet!

New transcriptions added to loc.gov

We recently added 60,000+ transcriptions to loc.gov. These transcriptions will make the collections more findable and readable for anyone doing research on the Library's website. Thank you to everyone who contributed to these campaigns!

Happy Spring!
