Summer Movies on the Lawn 

Part of the Library’s fourth annual “Summer Movies on the Lawn” outdoor film festival, this series of films showcases iconic films from the Library’s National Film Registry, will be presented on Thursday evenings at sundown this summer on the north lawn of the Library’s Thomas Jefferson Building, across the street from the U.S. Capitol.

Starting on July 15, several exhibitions will open for visitors to visit at the Library of Congress.

IMPORTANT NOTE: In order to enter the Library's Thomas Jefferson Building and experience the exhibition, each visit must apply for and receive one of a limited number of free timed entry passes. • Pillars of Democracy: The U.S. Congress

  Thursday, July 8, 4-5 p.m. ET

  The Library's John W. Kluge Center, with the Brookings Institution and the American Enterprise Institute, will host the Pillars of Democracy series to explore how institutions should work in functioning society, and grapple with the question of how their decline can be counteracted. These panel discussions will draw on the expertise of historians, political scientists, authors, and others from across the ideological spectrum, to show the full extent of the challenges facing American institutions, and their potential promise.
