Constitution.congress.gov is the new online version of the Constitution Annotated.

Known officially as the “Constitution Annotated: Analyses and Interpretation,” the Constitution Annotated has served as Congress’s official record of the U.S. Constitution.

Prepared by attorneys in the American Law Division of the Congressional Research Service, it explains in layman’s terms the Constitution’s origins, how it was created, and how the Supreme Court has interpreted each of its provisions throughout the nation’s history.
