While a great deal of attention is focused on the presidential campaign, a number of factors are likely to make House and Senate elections just as hard to predict, and perhaps every bit as consequential, as the question of who will win the race for the presidency.

John W. Kluge Center Director John Haskell will interview elections experts Julia Azari and Dave Wasserman on what we should expect to see in November, and how the pandemic, the fight over the Supreme Court vacancy, and presidential coattails may affect the result.
Julia Azari is Associate Professor and Assistant Chair in the Department of Political Science at Marquette University. She holds Ph.D., M.A. and M.Phil. degrees in political science from Yale University, and a B.A. in political science from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Her research and teaching interests include the American presidency, American political parties, the politics of the American state, and qualitative research methods. Azari is also a recent Kluge Center Distinguished Visiting Scholar.
David Wasserman is House Editor for The Cook Political Report, where he is responsible for analyzing U.S. House Races and is recognized as one of the nation's top election forecasters. Founded in 1984, The Cook Political Report provides analyses of Presidential, U.S. Senate, House and gubernatorial races.
