NLS BARD Support: Changes to audio magazines: Money, Kiplinger’s Personal Finance, and the New Yorker

The NLS audio magazine program has undergone several recent modifications due to changes in the magazine industry.

Money magazine discontinued print publication after its June/July 2019 issue. After researching the market, NLS identified Kiplinger’s Personal Finance as a comparable alternative, and it is now available for download from BARD.

 NLS previously had been receiving a free abridged audio version of the New Yorker from a third-party producer, but this producer discontinued audio production after the September 30, 2019, issue. In January 2020, NLS contracted with a new producer to narrate this magazine. The New Yorker is once again available on BARD beginning with the February 10 edition. The forthcoming editions will now include content that had not previously been available to NLS patrons.
