New RBSCD Finding Aids
Greetings from the Rare Book and Special Collections Division! We are pleased to announce the release of two new Finding Aids:
The Early American Paper Money Collection
The Early American Paper Money Collection contains bills issued primarily by the Continental Congress and the original thirteen colonies. The collection also includes examples of Continental Currency and bills issued by the Bank of Toronto, Bank of the United States, Confederate States of America, Connecticut, Corporation of Washington, Delaware, City of Wilmington, Delaware Bridge Company, Georgia, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, City of New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Farmers Bank of Reading, Rhode Island, South Carolina, City of Charleston, and Virginia, as well as additional miscellany relating to paper money.
Noted Viennese artist, Victor Hammer (1882-1967), was a master of many art forms. He was a sculptor, architect, musical instrument maker, type designer, printer, bookbinder, author, and teacher. His collection in the Rare Book and Special Collections Division consists of materials relating chiefly to his artistic career in Europe and the United States after his emigration from Austria in 1939.
