Volunteers hit the road with Alan Lomax

Thanks to all who have jumped into “The Man Who Recorded the World: On the Road with Alan Lomax” with both feet!  In just over 2 weeks, nearly 800 pages have been completed.  Another 2,400 are awaiting peer review.  All By the People pages are volunteer transcribed AND volunteer reviewed. As always, review is the crucial final step before transcriptions can be published on loc.gov for research use. We might be biased, but it’s also pretty fun – you get to read the transcriptions of others, make edits where needed, and push fully transcribed pages over the finish line!

Howdy, Book Fans!

Hello to those of you who signed up for this newsletter at the National Book Festival!  It was lovely to meet folks from across the country in our crowdsourcing café, including experienced BTP volunteers and newbies we could introduce to transcription.
