The John W. Kluge Center invites you to: “Complicity and Accountability in the Great Recession”


Please join the John W. Kluge Center at the Library of Congress for a discussion of the Great Recession in terms of ethics, complicity, and accountability. A reception will follow the discussion.

The event will take place at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, September 17, in room LJ-119 of the Library’s Thomas Jefferson Building, 10 First St. S.E., Washington, D.C. The event is free and open to the public.


Cathleen Kaveny, the Darald and Juliet Libby Professor at Boston College and 2018-2019 Cary and Ann Maguire Chair in Ethics and American History at the Kluge Center, will lead a discussion featuring perspectives from Wall Street, consumer protection, and the legislative branch. Kaveny’s work looks at the relationships among law, ethics, and policy.


Panelists:


Geoffrey T. Boisi is a Senior Partner and Chairman of Roundtable Investment Partners LLC.

Prentiss Cox is a professor at the University of Minnesota Law School, teaching in the areas of consumer protection law, public civil law enforcement, civil procedure, and legal practice skills.


Amy Friend is a Senior Advisor to FS Vector LLC, and served as Chief Counsel, Comptroller of the Currency, US Department of the Treasury, from 2013 to 2018. She also served as Chief Counsel for the Senate Banking Committee from 2008 to 2010.
