COPYRIGHT ROYALTY JUDGES FURTHER CLARIFY RULE REGARDING REPORTING REQUIREMENTS FOR CERTAIN EDUCATIONAL STATIONS (81 FR 89867)
The Copyright Royalty Judges announce a second technical amendment to the final rule that took effect on May 19, 2016, that relaxes certain reporting requirements for noncommercial minimum fee webcasters (educational stations that pay no more than the minimum fee for the use of sound recordings under the statutory licenses in Sections 112 and 114 of the Copyright Act). January 1, 2017: Effective date for cost-of-living adjustment in royalty rates for performance of musical compositions by colleges and universities (81 FR 84478).
January 1, 2017: Effective date for cost-of-living adjustment in royalty rates under satellite statutory license (81 FR 84478).
January 1, 2017: Effective date for calendar year 2017 royalty rates under webcaster statutory license (81 FR 87455).
