CORRUPTED (St. Martin’s Press, Oct. 27, 2015), the latest in Lisa Scottoline's relaunched Rosato & DiNunzio series, is a high-stakes, heart-wrenching story of a young man whose life was derailed by the juvenile justice system. The story echoes the real-life “kids for cash” scandal, where thousands of children in Pennsylvania were jailed by corrupt judges who received kickbacks from the builders and owners of private prison facilities.

Edgar Award-winning Scottoline will discuss and sign her book during a special appearance, sponsored by the Center for the Book in the Library of Congress, on Tuesday, Oct. 27, at 6:30 p.m. in the Montpelier Room, sixth floor of the Madison Building, 101 Independence Ave. S.E.

The event is free and open to the public; no tickets are required.
