Southern Caribbean Energy Corridor Initiative
June 17-20, 2025 - Paramaribo, Suriname
Space is limited - register today!
The U.S. Commercial Service, in partnership with the U.S. Embassy in Paramaribo, is extending an invitation to U.S. companies to join a U.S. delegation to Suriname this June during the 5th Suriname Energy, Oil, and Gas Summit.
Why Suriname? Opportunities Abound: In the next five years, Suriname is poised to become one of the world’s fastest-growing economies. The significant offshore oil discovery made in 2020 has attracted prominent global oil companies such as TotalEnergies, Petronas, Chevron, and Shell. TotalEnergies alone is set to invest $1.5 billion in Suriname over the next three years, laying the groundwork for the country’s first oil production, projected for 2028. This presents an array of opportunities for U.S. companies across sectors including hospitality (restaurants, hotels), oil and gas, oil and gas services, mining, renewable energy, fintech, construction, infrastructure, aviation, franchise, consumer goods, agribusiness, and more. As Suriname’s largest trading partner, the U.S. accounts for 31% of its imports, amounting to approximately $716 million. Both the Surinamese government and private sector have demonstrated a strong commitment to deepening and expanding commercial ties with U.S. businesses.
Join the U.S. Delegation: To support this burgeoning economic relationship, the U.S. Commercial Service and the U.S. Embassy in Paramaribo, extend an invitation to U.S. companies to join the U.S. delegation to Suriname this June. The delegation will participate in the market-leading energy and offshore event, Suriname Energy Oil and Gas Summit (SEOGS), one of the largest energy conferences in the Caribbean. This premier event attracts thousands of businesses from around the world, spanning the oil and gas industry and numerous other sectors, providing valuable opportunities for networking and business development. U.S. companies will also engage in one-on-one business meetings with pre-screened potential buyers, agents, distributors, and joint venture partners, ensuring targeted and meaningful interactions with key stakeholders.
