The STOPfakes Roadshow delivers critically important information about intellectual property to the audience that needs it most—start-ups, entrepreneurs, small and medium-sized businesses, independent creators, and inventors. Information is presented by experts from multiple government agencies that specialize in intellectual property issues.
Topics include:
- How to identify and protect your company’s various intellectual property assets (trademarks, patents, copyrights, and trade secrets)
- Mechanisms for obtaining IP protection in overseas markets and strategies for determining where to seek protection
- How to combat counterfeits on international e-commerce sites
- U.S. government resources available at the Department of Commerce, Copyright Office, CBP, and the FBI to help U.S. businesses with intellectual property issues.

One-on-One Meetings Participants can meet with the speakers for 10-minute sessions to discuss an IP issue they have. Space is limited and will be filled on a first come, first serve basis.

Apply for Copyright and Trademark Recordation On-Site U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) staff will help navigate the recordation application portal and process. Trademark recordation is $190 per international class of goods, and copyrights are $190 per application; it takes about 40 minutes. Bring your laptop!
