WEFTEC 2019: Event Highlight

The U.S. Commercial Service Environmental Technologies Team (members pictured at left) was pleased to see so many U.S. exporting clients at WEFTEC 2019, from September 23-25 in Chicago, IL.  We brought 20 delegations totaling more than 300 international buyers to meet with U.S. exhibitors at the show.  We also had industry specialists from 13 markets around the world on hand to counsel U.S. companies on best market prospects and upcoming opportunities in their countries.  If we missed seeing you at the show, or you'd like to learn more about export opportunities for your products, technologies, or services, please contact your Local Trade Specialist today or email Environmental Technologies Team Leader Ryan Russell (ryan.russell@trade.gov) for assistance connecting you with your local office. Featured Event: Envirotech Executive Service - Water Delegation to India

The United States Department of Commerce, International Trade Administration is pleased to announce the opportunity for U.S. companies to join the Envirotech Executive Service - Water Delegation to India.

Water/wastewater is one of the most promising sub-sectors of the environment technologies industry in India for U.S. exporters.  The EES Mission to India will introduce potential delegates to the Indian water/wastewater markets in these three cities; help participants learn about relevant policies, procedures and opportunities in India’s water industry; and take part in business to business matchmaking appointments with private sector organizations and government agencies.  In addition, the delegates will have an opportunity to visit/participate in the Water Expo 2020 (www.waterexpo.biz) , a local trade show that takes place from February 13-15, 2020 in Chennai.

World Bank Business Opportunities Fair

If you haven’t registered for the 2019 World Bank Group Business Opportunities Fair, there’s still time! To take advantage of the early bird discount, please register by 11:59ET on Friday, October 4, 2019. (The final registration deadline is 11:59ET on Friday, October 18.)

The October 29-31 event is designed to provide you with information about exciting trends in the climate-smart energy space and their implications for energy companies looking for business opportunities in emerging markets. Participants will also learn about the energy sector strategies, priorities, and portfolios of the World Bank Group and other International Financial Institutions (IFIs), including the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

In addition to sessions on climate-smart energy, the event will also feature sessions on the World Bank’s procurement processes and opportunities, and how companies can work with the World Bank Group and other IFIs. During these interactive sessions, participants will be able to meet energy and procurement experts at these institutions.

Finally, the program offers several opportunities for networking. We will also launch a new app this year to allow attendees to directly network and interact with each other. Instructions on downloading the app will be sent to confirmed participants on October 21.

Featured Event: InfraWater Indonesia 2019

InfraWater Indonesia 2019 is part of Indonesia Infrastructure Week and is the meeting place of national and international specialists involved in various industrial and infrastructure projects in the water industry in Indonesia.

The InfraWater Indonesia 2019 Exhibition and Conference will present the most advanced water technologies, products & service, equipment and materials. Each year the event has become a strategic platform for discussions and knowledge sharing among experts and
leaders representing utilities, industry, finance and investment, and key water market players.

Indonesian water & waste water industry has been steadily growing year on year following the target from Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) to provide 100 percent access to safe drinking water by 2019. As of today, access to safe drinking water is still
at 72%. This gap of 28% offers very lucrative opportunities to this sector.

In 2018, Indonesia Infrastructure Week attracted 12,194 attendees; and in 2019, this figure is expected to grow to more than 14,000.
