Local Success - Bismarck State College is Powering Training for Saudi Arabia's Future Utility Workers
Bismarck State College (BSC) has been delivering its world class power technician training curriculum in the US for many years. It is now delivering it directly to Saudi Arabian utility worker trainees since September 2018. The program is part of Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, where organizations such as Saudi Aramco are helping to establish at least 15 vocational and technical training academies throughout the Kingdom over the next 10 years. Brazil Commercial Specialist Counsels Local Businesses on Brazilian Market
Moacir Rodovalho, a Senior Commercial Specialist with the U.S. Commercial Service in Recife, Brazil, met with 10 local business leaders in North Dakota and Minnesota, advising them on specific steps they can take to increase the likelihood of success in the Brazilian market. Some companies had issues with specific customs and regulations for entering the Brazilian market, others were wanting to find buyers in Brazil and others were looking for overall market entry best practices. The CS North Dakota Rural Intel Service supplemented the meetings with background market research to complement the information shared by Brazil-based specialists. Moacir's visit was a follow-up to a month-long Temporary Duty Assignment to Recife completed by CS North Dakota Office Director Heather Ranck in July / August 2019.

North Dakota ag machinery companies have been some of the most active participants in USA Pavilions at overseas ag shows sponsored by the U.S. Commercial Service Agribusiness Team. The 2020 list of foreign ag shows with US Commercial Service support has just been published. USA Pavilions help maximize your presence at overseas production agricultural trade shows. Many will offer Gold Key and Full Booth services. These trade shows include some of the largest in the world such as Agritechnica, EuroTier, and NAMPO. Japan Signs Free Trade Agreement with U.S.
North Dakota producers will soon have another outlet to sell their commodities. President Trump signed the U.S. - Japan trade agreement which reduces tariffs on many American exports. Japan is North Dakota's fifth-largest export market overall and the United States' third-largest export market for agricultural goods. Governor Doug Burgum was present at the signing. "This opens the door for agriculture to move tariff free in Japan, and I think it represents an opportunity to build on great new relationships," said Burgum. Click here to learn more.
