Event: World Bank Group 2019 Business Opportunities Fair

The World Bank Group’s Business Opportunities Fair will be taking place from October 29-31, 2019 in Washington, D.C. The event will focus on energy and climate-related work at the World Bank Group (WBG). The program will also feature sessions with the Asian Development Bank, the European Bank for Reconstruction and
Development, the Inter-American Development Bank, and the Millennium Challenge Corporation.

The event is designed to allow the private sector to initiate a dialogue with WBG and other International Financial Institution teams responsible for energy projects; Understand project requirements and constraints and considerations/strategies to use when evaluating IFI-financed opportunities; Inform WBG and other IFI staff of capabilities and interests of firms within sector of expertise; Create connections through business-to-business meetings with other private sector participants and WBG/IFI staff.

Trade Leads and Tenders

Description: The Uruguayan Institute of Meteorology (INUMET) is planning to purchase the first meteorological radar in Uruguay. It will be a Doppler Weather Radar and the equipment will be installed in Biassini town, in the city of Salto-Uruguay. The investment is estimated in 3.5-4 million USD. It will be funded partially by INUMET, plus funds from other governmental entities, through trust funds. The tender is planned to come out on mid-October. It will cover not only the equipment but also the civil works to install the equipment.
