U.S. Brazil Trade Facilitation Webinars

The U.S. Commercial Service is organizing a Webinar Series on customs in Brazil. This Webinar Series is a great learning opportunity for U.S. companies with limited knowledge of Brazilian Customs.

 You will hear from U.S. Diplomats, Brazilian Government Officials, and private sector experts to help you navigate the Brazilian Customs environment, learn the benefits of working with a local customs broker, understand when and how to apply for licenses and certificates, and better comprehend the taxation and legal framework in Brazil.

 This Webinar Series will help your company better prepare to do business in the largest country in Latin America, the second largest economy in the Western hemisphere behind the United States, and the ninth largest economy in the world.

 The first four webinars will offer information on general topics and the fifth/last webinar will be focused on specific industry regulations and requirements. Opportunity to Comment: Draft Policy on Coast Guard Acceptance of Ballast Water Management Systems Testing Protocol

The Coast Guard announced the availability of a draft policy letter that establishes the Coast Guard's proposed acceptance of type-approval testing protocols for BWMS that render nonviable (meaning “permanently incapable of reproduction”) organisms in ballast water and may be used in addition to the methods established under existing regulations. The deadline for submitting comments is September 30, 2019.

Opportunity: The office of Principal Scientific Adviser (PSA) to Government of India in partnership with East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) invites proposals from technology partners for recovery of land at Ghazipur open dump site in New Delhi by demonstration/ implementation of technology for amelioration of the landfill waste. Multiple technologies may be selected for implementation at the Ghazipur Landfill site, operating in parallel to address the landfill challenge in a multi-pronged fashion. Pilot demonstration units will be set up in the land adjacent to the landfill and the waste from the landfill will be provided to each pilot project. The implementation of the pilot demonstration project provides an opportunity for companies across the world to validate technologies in real-time conditions.
