 Water
sustainability and security are priorities for Singapore’s socio-economic
growth. By 2060, the Singapore government has a target to acquire 50% of its
water from a combination of resources, including reclaimed water, the NEWater
Project, 30% from salt water desalination and 20% from rainfall collected in
water catchment areas. To achieve these efforts, the island city-state has
invested heavily in research and technology over the last four decades and has
developed world-class capabilities in total water management.
Singapore’s Public Utilities Board (PUB), under the country’s smart nation
plan continues to adopt smart water technologies in various aspects of
Singapore’s water management. These next-generation technologies range from the
use of image analytics for earth control monitoring at construction sites to a
smart water assessment network for continuous real-time water quality
monitoring. The integration of smart technologies across Singapore’s water loop
represents its vision for the future of water management and its future as a
Smart Nation —one that is driven by innovation and informed by data for better
decisions.
Take this opportunity to be a part of Singapore’s Smart Water, Smart
Nation movement by participating at the upcoming Singapore International Water
Week, July -12, 2018. Please contact Regional Commercial Assistant, Sherry Ng
