Concluding #FDIintheUSA

This week, the latest edition of #FDIintheUSA, our annual social media campaign highlighting the benefits of foreign direct investment (FDI) across the United States, came to a close. For the last several months, SelectUSA has shared detailed infographics that show how FDI directly supports U.S. jobs in a wide variety of industry sectors at the state level, followed by a focus on dozens of international markets. #FDIintheUSA will be back later this year following the release of new and updated data from the Bureau of Economic Analysis. Below are this week's international markets.

FDI from Thailand directly supports 1,000 to 2,499 U.S. jobs
FDI from Turkey directly supports 2,500 to 4,999 U.S. jobs
FDI from the UAE directly supports 10,400 U.S. jobs
FDI from the United Kingdom directly supports 1.1 million U.S. jobs

Eastern Idaho Secures Its First Foreign Direct Investment

Eastern Idaho, known for its Innovation Corridor – featuring extensive science, technology, and research sectors – secured its first foreign direct investment (FDI) success as a direct result of SelectUSA.

In the spring of 2017, Regional Economic Development for Eastern Idaho (REDI) celebrated the grand opening of two Japan-based metal fabrication businesses, Sakae Casting and Ohzen, in Idaho Falls.
