Trade Show - Corporate Executive Office (CEO) Program at China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) 2018

The Corporate Executive Office (CEO) Program is a trade show program designed to offer small and medium sized companies a method of exhibiting at a trade show.  It’s an alternative to the traditional trade show booth and offers a unique, cost-effective way for U.S. companies to participate.  The program provides not only an incubator-type platform for companies to experience the show and participate at a lower cost than the usual trade show booth, but also an onsite assistant to help with meetings, marketing, and basic interpretation.  The CEO is a specific area on the trade show floor (located within the USA Pavilion) that is subdivided into meeting space (with tables and chairs, one set per each U.S. company), business center (internet access, small desk, etc.) and small lounge/seating area.

Country Spotlight: Argentina

Argentina

Healthcare expenditures in Argentina have traditionally accounted for approximately 7 percent of the GDP, among the highest in the region. Imports in the medical equipment and device sector have been estimated to account for around 70-75 percent of the total market. The United States continues to lead the Argentine import market of medical products and equipment.

Medical products and technology developed and produced in the United States are highly regarded in Argentina. This is particularly relevant when U.S. exporters can offer high quality products at competitive prices.

The importation of used and refurbished medical equipment is either forbidden or highly restricted through several requirements. It is generally not recommended for U.S. exporters and distributors.

Imports of medical products must be performed by an importer registered with ANMAT (Administración Nacional de Medicamentos, Alimentos y Tecnología Médica - the Argentine equivalent to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration), as a frequent importer of medical equipment.
