U.S. Commercial Service / ND District Export Council  Internship Position Available in September
The U.S Commercial Service in Fargo is seeking an intern, starting in September. The position is a professional position. The student will assist the North Dakota Trade Specialist in preparing market research, analyzing company-by-company prospects in different markets, liaising with partner organizations, managing events, updating databases, and increasing export volume for North Dakota. Sen. Heitkamp discusses global trade at western ND company visit and ag roundtable
Senator Heidi Heitkamp recently held an ag roundtable and visited Richardton, ND-based Stone Mill - North America's largest organic food flax processing facility. U.S Commercial Service / North Dakota Director Heather Ranck participated in the roundtable and highlighted how Stone Mill relies on U.S. Commercial Service programs to be successful. Rep. Cramer to Attend Presidential Delegation Trip to Kazakhstan
Congressman Kevin Cramer will join US Energy Secretary Rick Perry on a Presidential Delegation 
trip to the Republic of Kazakhstan and to attend Expo 2017, an International Fair on "Future Energy" in the city of Astana, Kazakhstan. In addition to Cramer's trip to Kazakhstan.

Japan Beef Tariff Increase
Japan has activated its safeguard mechanism on frozen beef imports, increasing the tariff rate from 38.5 percent to 50 percent for the balance of the year. Click here for the full story.

40th Anniversary USA College Day in London
USA College Day is organized by the US-UK Fullbright Commission and celebrates its 40th anniversary in 2017. The event takes place on Friday, September 29th and Saturday, September 30th in Central London. With nearly 200 US higher education institutions taking part, USA College Day is the largest US education fair in Europe. Exhibitors at USA College Day are promoted to over 100,000 British students, parents, and counselors and receive access to a detailed UK high school database with counselor contact details. The UK sent 11,600 British students to US universities last year. USA College Day is an opportunity to connect in person with over 4,500 students via a host of recruitment and promotion opportunities. Certified Trade Mission to Azerbaijan and Georgia
Azerbaijan and Georgia have many unexplored opportunities for American businesses. Key industries in Azerbaijan include oil and gas, chemical, pharmaceutical, aerospace, and banking and finance. Key industries identified by the Georgian government include energy, tourism, technology, manufacturing, logistics, agriculture, and food processing. U.S. companies can participate in both stops or one.  But while traveling to the region from the U.S., it might be worthwhile to visit both countries to

  • explore these markets for new business opportunities
  • meet with pre-screened distributors, customers, and business partners
  • network with key business people and U.S. companies on the ground at Ambassadors' receptions and luncheons/dinners

Domestic Aerospace export control seminars
