 On December 9-16, 2016, Ambassador Vinai Thummalapally, Executive Director of SelectUSA, visited Hyderabad, Pune, Mumbai, Kolkata, and New Delhi to promote SelectUSA and encourage Indian investors to participate in the upcoming India Road Show (March 6-10) and the 2017 Investment Summit (June 18-20).

During his visit, Ambassador Thummalapally met with a wide array of groups, including business leaders, national and regional trade associations, representatives of U.S. states in India, and investors from prominent startups in all five cities. Since the tour, many investors with U.S. investment plans expressed interest in attending the India Road Show and 2017 Investment Summit.

The tour concluded with a reception at the TiEcon Global Summit, where Ambassador Thummalapally and U.S. Ambassador to India Richard Verma addressed the group of TiE members and provided information on SelectUSA's mission and services.
India continues to be one of the fastest growing sources of FDI to the United States. We look forward to another great year of robust collaboration and growth.

With the departure of Paul Frost from the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, the role of lead Commercial Officer is now being filled by John Fleming, Principal Commercial Officer - South India. The U.S. Commercial Service team here in India, including SelectUSA Investment Specialist Rahul Padmanabha, welcome Mr. Fleming. We are looking forward to working together to promote and increase Indian investment to the United States.
 November 23: SelectUSA and the U.S. Commercial Service (USCS) participated in a panel discussion at the CII Global SME Business Summit in New Delhi and briefed participants on SelectUSA services for companies looking to expand in or enter the United States.
November 30 - December 2: We met with representatives and members of the Karnataka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the TiE Hubbali Chapter to explore collaborative opportunities to further USCS goals. Information on SelectUSA services and the upcoming India Road Show were significant areas of interest. Both the KCCI and TiE have agreed to spread the word about the Road Show in Bengaluru.
