Webinar- Opportunities in China’s Medical Device Market
The medical device market is one of China’s fastest growing industry sectors. In fact, within the last decade, it had an average growth rate of 20%, and in 2013, it surpassed Japan to become the second largest medical device market in the world. In 2014, the market scale of the medical device market reached around RMB256 billion (roughly USD43 billion), an increase of 21% when compared to 2013, with more than 76 percent of market demand coming from hospitals. With a growing aging population and increasing health awareness, there is a great potential for the medical device industry in China.

International Patient Day: Saving Lives Through American Innovation
In March 2017, several U.S. Commercial Service offices around the globe will host International Patient Day programs, where foreign government regulators and high level officials will see the personal impact U.S. medical technology has on their local population. International Patient Day seeks to build the human connection through sharing personal stories of how U.S. technology is improving lives in their country.

Program: Each country’s program will feature presentations from local doctors and patients who will talk about how US technologies have improved their lives. A networking reception where regulators can speak with US healthcare technology firms will follow these presentations. Marketing Partnership Opportunity: International Patient Day will provide marketing partners with valuable exposure to and engagement with foreign government regulators and other critical decision makers. Marketing partners will be responsible for:
- Locating a doctor or patient in the target country who uses your company’s technology and would be willing to speak at the International Patient Day.
- Attending the local International Patient Day to discuss new technology or answer questions.

U.S. Commercial Service Germany, Messe Berlin and the German Association of Health IT Vendors (bvitg) are organizing a USA Pavilion for U.S. companies at the conhIT 2017, in Berlin, April 25-27.

Trade Fair - China International Medical Equipment Fair (CMEF) and the CORPORATE EXECUTIVE OFFICE (CEO) PROGRAM
The CEO is a specific area on the trade show floor located within the USA Pavilion that is subdivided into meeting space (with tables and chairs, one set per each U.S. company), business center (internet access, small desk, etc.) and small lounge/seating area. The program is an alternative to the traditional trade show booth and offers a unique, cost-effective way for companies to participate in the largest medical equipment exhibition in Asia. The Mission has been approved and posted in the Federal Register. The mission is open to U.S. companies from a cross-section of industries but is strongly focused on companies representing Central America’s lead industries for U.S. exports and investment .

The U.S. Commercial Service will be organizing a webinar series highlighting business opportunities in each Central American country, scheduled from December 14 through February 1. You Might Qualify for a President's "E-Award" for Excellence in Exporting!
The President’s “E” Award was initiated by Executive Order of President John F. Kennedy in 1961 and has been presented annually ever since. The President's “E” Award affords suitable recognition to persons, firms, or organizations which contribute significantly in the effort to increase U.S. exports. There are two types of “E” Awards.
· The President's “E” Award for Exports is awarded to a firm or organization that has made significant contributions to the increase of American exports.
· The President's “E” Award for Export Service is awarded to organizations that may or may not export directly, but which assist or facilitate export activities.
Winners of the “E” Award are authorized to fly the blue and white banner, to display the accompanying certificate of commendation which is signed by the Secretary of Commerce in the name and by the authority of the President, to wear and issue to employees an “E” lapel pin, and to refer to the award in their advertising.
Applications will be accepted between November 1st, 2016 and January 20th, 2017.
