Direct Line for American Businesses: Opportunities in Paraguay's Energy Sector

Despite its tremendous resources in hydroelectric generation, Paraguay faces challenges in distribution, particularly in smaller communities and the sparsely populated Chaco region. As the country strives to guarantee energy access to a growing population with usage increasing 8% per year, Paraguay seeks private sector investment as a key element in its long term plan. From smaller-scale solar and hydro projects to substations and controls technology, Paraguay will be issuing tenders for numerous infrastructure improvement projects in the months and years ahead.
